Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREGINALD LUCHUCK March 23, 1928 - January 27, 2008 It is with great sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at his winter residence in Mission, Texas. Dad is survived by daughter Sandy Atkinson (Robert) of Winnipeg, sons, Greg Luchuck of Calgary and Tim Luchuck (Sharon) of Winnipeg. Grandpa will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Carrie Dubreuil (Mike) of Thunder Bay, Adam Atkinson of Hamilton and Carly Luchuck of Winnipeg and his great-grandchild Austin Derozea of Thunder Bay. Reg will be sorely missed by his sister Frances (Dolly) of Calgary, Alberta, nieces, nephews and by all his summer friends at Bakers Narrows and winter friends in Texas. He was predeceased by his loving wife Bernice (Bea) Luchuck, parents, Peter and Sara Luchuk; five brothers, William in infancy, Edward of Pine Falls, David of Windsor, Peter of Rivers, James of Winnipeg and his loving sisters, Rose and Elizabeth (Betty) of Winnipeg. Reg grew up in Rivers, Manitoba, and began his working career with the railroad. After reading an ad for a mining company looking for miners in Flin Flon, he decided to apply. This began a lifelong love of the north. Dad married, raised a family, endured a long company strike and a serious mine accident but never regretted his decision to make his home in Flin Flon. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, spending many hours on the lake at Iskwasum and Athapap. In his later years Reg has enjoyed ballroom dancing and traveled extensively to Europe, Australia and South America. In his words, I live the best of both worlds, summers at the cottage, and winters in Texas, what could be better? Dad, you will be missed! Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be at a later date. Those we love don't go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear.
